Armando Manzanero

Mexican composer and singer, considered one of the most successful composers in the history of Mexican music. Armando Manzanero was the author of more than four hundred songs such as "Adoro", "Somos novios" or "Esta tarde vi llover".


WHO IS ARMANDO MANZANERO?

He was born in Mexico, Mérida, Yucatán, on December 7, 1935.

At the age of 8, he began music studies at the School of Fine Arts in his hometown, completing his musical training in Mexico City. In 1950 he composed his first melody entitled "Nunca en el mundo" and the following year he began his professional activity as a pianist and six years later he began working as musical director of the Mexican subsidiary of the CBS record label.



Musical trajectory

He wrote more than four hundred songs, of which more than fifty have achieved international fame, such as "Somos novios", "Esta tarde vi llover", "Contigo aprendi" and "Adoro". His songs earned him the pseudonym "King of Romanticism"5 and were performed by multiple international stars.


In 1968 he composed the song "Somos Novios", which was translated for Elvis Presley under the title "It's Impossible" and in French under the title "J'ai mal de toi". The theme has been recorded by Vikky Carr, Luis Miguel, Dennis Brown, Andrea Bocelli and Manzanero himself.
