Pedro Infante

Pedro Infante was a Mexican artist who during his active years became one of the most beloved characters in the entire country. He debuted as an actor in 1939, in the feature film entitled 'En un burro tres baturros' directed by José Benavides, Jr. From that moment on, he generated great popularity among fans throughout the country, being the first step towards one of the careers emblematic films for a Mexican, getting to be nominated for the Ariel Award for Best Male Performance and winner for Best Actor at the Berlin Film Festival, both for his performance in the film 'Tizoc'.


who is Pedro Infante?

Infante was born in Mazatlán on November 18, 1917. The son of a music teacher, he barely finished fourth grade before working in various trades to help support his family. He was a father at 17, and despite having a talent for carpentry, music was stronger. His first wife convinced him to seek their fortune in the capital, and in the 1940s he began recording records for the Peerless company. His tender and passionate voice was expressed in a variety of popular genres, although ranchera was the style that best represented him. "Amorcito corazón", "Cien años", "Damn my luck" and "They say I'm a womanizer", were some of his biggest hits.
